Today I love my bike! It's an official bike loving day in my new flat. Because not only I got on a bike, my new flatmate also got on a bike. And the most wonderful thing is we did not talk about the idea and we happened to both use our bikes on different routes. I'm just hell excited, even my bike is 1 inch too low that I just could not straighten my legs. Perhaps I have grown an inch unconsciously! Because now I'm living in Britain. I eat British beef, drink British milk, eat British cheese. They are the essentials for a healthy growth in bones and they might have helped me! Why not think like this.:)
Today I wanted to buy a new lock for my bike. My bike was a cheap second-hand sort of in a status that nobody would want, but it's never too careful to lock your bike. And when I got out on the road, I realized today is Sunday and on Sundays shops all close ridiculously early. No way. God fools me. Because I'm on my way to a cafe and later I've planned to bike to my grocery supplier - where I can buy juicy sweet fresh Scottish salmon. I don't particular like to give up my plan so I decided to ride to the cafe and park it where I can see it anyway. Fortunately just a few shops away the cafe I found a bike shop open. I love those bike people. They have good work ethics. Why don't all British shops open on Sunday afternoon to make more more money? The truth is, since it is the only shop that's on my way and I'm pretty late for the cafe already, I had to buy whatever I can get, which is a fancy lock for 15 quid. I'm pretty sure giving such a fancy price the lock is gonna lock all tempting chiefs away. The end of the story is, I got my bike a fancy accessory. I got to ride it on Scottish roads all the way to my supermarket with a gym bag. I shopped till I drop. I filled my gym bag with crap and got home safely.
Who says money can't buy happiness? Sometimes it is just some number disappearing on your bank account, digitally. I'm gonna ride my bike. No matter what. Till forever and ever. Till the day it dies do we part. Me and my bike!
